Electric Power Steering rocks!
Electric Power Steering rocks!
Compared to my 91 CRX Si (no PS) and 99 Civic Si (hydraulic PS), the Fit's steering feels very responsive. The Fit seems to handle more like a go kart than my CRX, which nearly has full suspension work (Tokico Illuminas, Ground Control coilovers, front and rear (upper and lower) stress bars, front and rear sway bars, high performance tires)!
I can't wait to fully break her in and take her to some clover leafs and S-turn exits/onramps. I'm also going to participate in some local auto x-ing again this year.

I have to admit that this setup rocks aswell... Extremely responsive and there seems to be no lag time or slack in the steering wheel... I am excited for this and can't wait to use it Auto Xing
No More Forearm Workouts
I bought a Fit last weekend and should have it mid-May. My 2000 Civic CX has no power steering and feels like a forearm workout getting in and out of parking spaces. I'm gonna feel super strong with power steering!
Electric power steering saves a substantial amount of fuel over hydraulic as well. Only issue some people have reported is that it can sometimes weight up when parking but may have been an early model clitch (back 5 or 6 years ago) that has been fixed.

IIRC the car has to physically be on for the power steering pump to work...but its been quite awhile since I have worked the Honda parts counter.
So far, I'm impressed. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially after all the magazines reported that Saturn's system on the Vue did take some getting used to. Once again, Honda makes a great product. It's very responsive, doesn't feel strange in any way. Just a nice, tight steering rack.
