They would be able to get one for you without a problem. What they are probably trying to do is get you to pay for shipping. You can do the same by contacting the dealers say around the GTA (Toronto). You'll find the here for sure. Then negotiate a deal the way I had explained or by using the www.honda-cars-insider-advice.com site and have it shipped to you. www.searail.ca will give you a quote. Probably $500.00 or so to get it to Halifax from here. Or if you feel like driving it make a deal then fly here to pick it up then drive it back.

maybe it'll be in our best interest to wait until the 2010's arrive.

the best deal offered here so far on a 2009 Sport automatic is $21000 and taxes for a total of $23859. i basically asked whats the best deal they would offer me on a car that they have in stock, seeing as its not my first choice for color.

i took that quote to another dealer in my area and they beat it by $400.

Thats awesome.....on a car with like $1200.00 difference bettween dealer net and MSRP $400.00 is a good chunk of change. Good work

now i have them fighting over an interest rate. one is offering 7.69% the other says "as low as 5.74%" i want to peg him at a specific rate. i was going to trade in my '04 civic but seeing what both offered me i'll likely sell it privately. i wish i could get the one dealer to throw in a EU2000 generator!

Ouch those interest rates are high, are you financing or leasing? Where are you buying?

i'm financing and i'm in nova scotia. my financing won't last too long though. once i sell my '04 civic, i plan on paying the loan off early. i'm putting quite a bit as a downpayment.

Yeah the Fit doesn't have any low interest rates...just Honda's standard rate. Another thing you could do is try it as a variable rate, but the five and a half % seems pretty good. We've all been spoiled by the manufacturers low advertised rates unfortunately. Did you use that website?

yes i used the website. i've done all this haggling and i haven't even taken the Sport out for a test drive. I have driven the LX though. i never even thought of trying a variable rate. thanks.

took the Sport for a test drive. my '04 civic rides smoother than this car. we were pretty disappointed. must be the 16" rims, the LX was much smoother. we'll be waiting for the 2010's.
