Fairly cool Fit Armrest/storage!

Don't know if it's been posted before, but there's a pretty nice armrest/console available for the Fit. They make them for '07/'08 Fits, but they also have new ones for the '09 Fit which requires no drilling, screwing, holes, etc.

It appears to be leather covered, and the inside has slots for CDs and even change slots at the inside top. Behind, for back seat passengers, there's a fold-out cup holder to replace the one taken at the back of the factory console by the new install. It is a smaller version (of course) of the many console/armrests one would find in SUVs.

For me, I'll have to have this, or one similar. If anyone knows of one better and more convenient to install than this one then please, let me know.

You Fit gurus probably already know about this, but I decided to post just in case you do not and are interested.

09 + Honda Fit Storage Armrest - 09-FIT-N1

Enjoy, or NOT!

You could always get the Honda one. Looks much nicer IMO, more $$ though.

I have the Zeta armrest. It is fairly decent quality and simple to install. All of a 5 minute job. I think it is one of the best upgrades I have made. I got mine at a special deal because nobody wanted to be part of a group buy but, apparently, me. So they sold it to me with free shipping and a slightly better price. Yeah me.

As I understand the install on the OEM armrest, it requires practically taking the entire console apart and putting it all back together. Must take a couple hours to do. It does have a sliding armrest which I loved on my 2007 Civic Si.

All in all, Zeta products have been very good to me.

Wow, big difference in installation between this and the Honda one. :-) I guess I would like to see both if the quality are comparable.

Since the Zeta armrest doesn't adjust, is it long enough that your arm doesn't keep falling off the front? The stock Fit armrest seems not only narrow, but short as well. Before I buy a Zeta, I want to make sure you can actually rest your arm on it.

Thanks!

The OEM armrest requires reconfiguring the console to attach to the frame the same way the GD3 console does, with 2 screws from the sides, going into a bracket instead of one from the top. Way more stable.

Yeah, I will probably end up getting the Honda OEM one just because of the quality. Honda does say that it's not for m/t but others have posted that there isn't really a problem unless you have a short shifter. I don't mind the install if it looks and fits nice and stable.

I'm tall and sit with the seat all the way back and the back rest raked back a bit. My elbow falls right on the front 3 or 4 inches of the armrest naturally. My wife gets what's left and she is not complaining either. It is way better than the stock sport armrest in my mind. With the sport armrest, I had to pull it up to buckle the seat belt and with the Zeta armrest this is no longer a problem. If, you are shorter, it might be a little short for you.

I also had a Civic Si with the sliding armrest and loved it. I thought it was one of the best features of the car. Frankly I am a little disappointed that Honda does not put that feature in all its cars.
