Seat Cushion to Combat Poor Driver Seat Position?

As I still contemplate getting the Fit, I noticed I had an issue when I test drove it that seems to be a common complaint... not being able to sit close enough for the steering wheel to not be so far away, without right knee banging up against corner of center console. Would a seat cushion fix this problem? I'm envisioning one that not only raises you up a good couple of inches, but also raises the back of your knees, so there is less leg parting / splay.

What kind of seat cushions are Fit Freaks using?

You did try telescoping the wheel, right? Weird. Didn't know this was a common complaint and I've got pretty short hobbit legs.

Maybe I have hobbit arms, lol. I tend to drive a little granny style anyway... I like being close to the steering wheel, but my legs spread enough for that right knee to flirt with that corner, and I'm anticipating that to be an issue, if it stood out for me upon test drive.

I don't know if this helps, but I'm 5'11 and wear 30 inseam pants (to give people a feel for my leg length). Sorry if that's TMI. lol.

Sounds about like me-5'10" with 30" inseam, lol! And only because I refuse to by 29"! The only Sicilian genes I got from my mom's side were the ones for height!

I dunno, I'm fairly comfy. Every now and then I adjust the seatback b/c I have back issues and I'll find myself slouching if I don't have the seatback up pretty straight. You might consider one of those little tubular pillows like physical therapists give out to back pain patients.

Lipappy, I'm pretty much the exact same size as you. I sit with the seat most of the way back, and slightly reclined, and the steering wheel as far rearward as it will go. Pretty much a sports car driving position, in other words. If you want to sit closer, I think it would have to be pretty extreme in order for you to feel as though you don't have room for your knees.
