spash guards
spash guards
Not to sound silly and this might be an old request, but has anyone found any splash guards that will work with a 09 Fit Sport. I was forced to drive on a freshly watered dirt road as a detour for construction and as I feared, it left a trail of yellow mud down the side of my new BBP Fit. Winter happens here and they gravel the roads. I see disasater for my lower trim. My dealer and a couple online places say Honda has no plans for guards for the Sport. Unbeleivable!! They say its cuz of the lower sport trim.. COME ON, YOU ARE HONDA, YOU CAN MAKE ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! Im about to order a set for the Base Fit and get out my trusty Dremel tool and my black Silicone out and tear into it. Ive done this before and altho it takes a while good results can be had. Has anyone else found another source for guards? Any help will be appreciated

This link should work, click on The Protector Package for $366.97, which shows the rear splash guards on the Sport model:
Honda Canada
Realize there is almost no difference between the area protected with the side skirt of the sport at the wheel well and the add-on splash guard on the Base model.
The main difference is that the add-on splash guards are rubbery/plastic flexible and cannot be painted to match the car (I was going to have that done). The hard side-skirts can be painted, obviously, as they come painted. And they will chip.
If you have wider tires, expect more mess on your car.
You can play with the Build A Fit on the US site here:
Build and Price a Honda - the Official Honda Web Site
Start with the Base model and add on the splash guards. Then go back and look at the Sport model. It's not like the add-on Base splash guards are big trucker items with the chrome naked lady. It's about the same as the front of the side skirt on the Sport.
You could probably cut down the front one to bolt OVER the current side skirt IN only the wheel well. It won't fit over the rest of the side skirt. But it would help protect the paint ON the side skirt in the wheel well.

Thanks Taffy,
I understand that the guards dont provide much more than the side skirts do. Im not really looking for big assed truck flaps, just another inch or two of protection from splash and winter road gravel and grit. My main idea is to protect then finish on the side skirts. The GMC dealer sells a set of stiff black unbranded flaps that I will cut down and install for the winter driving season. It just cheezes me off that I have to go thru a lot of hassles instead of just buying a Honda part that is provided for all other models. Again if anyone has any other ideas on this, please contact me

i donno, instead of ugly mudflaps, how about getting some generic clearbra sheets and wrap the sidesills and areas where rocks might hit? would look 100x better and easy to clean, replaceable too.
just a thought.

just a thought.
OOOH! Great idea!
