Angry h-fit support??

Has anyone had any need for customer support from h-fit for anything? I bought their SupaSucka Intake, and short shift kit last year and have really enjoyed them both. Now, a couple of weeks ago, my mechanic noticed that the tube coming from the airbox to go into the manifold was broke almost all the way around it! I shored it back into place with a bungee cord, and sent off an e-mail to h-fit asking if they would replace it, or do I need to buy a whole new one... Well, it's like three weeks later, and no response whatsoever from them, not even a "tough luck, dude". I tried sending another to info@h-fit.com, and it came back saying 'no such address on this server'! I copied the address right off their "Contact Us" webpage. If they are going to treat customers like that, I for sure will just go elswhere.

Bummers man. On 9/17/08, I sent an email to them using the address u indicated (info@h-fit.com) cuz the screw holding the left & right side of the supa sucka came out and disappeared. They replied w/ this address (james.liang@h-fit.com).

On 12/2008, I ordered some stuff from their site and got a reply w/ this address (johnny.chen@h-fit.com)

You could try one of these 'direct' addresses. Hope it works.

"This is the email server for the h-fit.com domain.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations.

<james.liang@h-fit.com>: Permanent Failure: No account by that name here
<johnny.chen@h-fit.com>: Permanent Failure: No account by that name here"

NOW WHAT?!?! anyone, anyone, bueller.................. Are they still in business, or just ducking ALL e-mails?!?!??!

Hi Vinnimac,

Sorry you had a hard time reaching us. I just replied to your PM and I just saw this post now. Sorry for the delay in replying to this post. I do not know why you are getting those responses from our mail server. That is quite upsetting for us too. Please understand that we have no intentions for that kind of response.

Please reply to my PM when you get the chance.

If anybody else has any questions for us, feel free to PM us or email us any time. Thanks for your support for H-Fit and H-Fit products.

Best Regards,
Johnny
H-Fit Team

I feel ya my intake broke too and I find a delay in their emails and even when I was willing to pay for a replacement of the box I still never got an email back when I asked for a paypal invoice. At this point I think I wanna go a different rout as far as intake because I dont like how its taking what Id say close to a month in a half to get an answer regaurding a replacement. I think I want to spend my money elsewhere unless I get a amazing deal on the replacement. I feel a little let down.

Hi Nick,

Thank you for your post. We were wondering why we haven't heard back from you. I sent a paypal invoice to your email on 8-17-09. We have your Rev2 replacement ready for you if you are still interested. I will send the payapl invoice reminder. Please feel free to PM me or email me at johnny.chen@h-fit.com if you have additional questions.

Thanks,
Johnny

I was reading some threads and looked and guess what, mines cracked at the TB similar to others. Looks like a design flaw or bad lot of materials used to make some. Just received a set of wheels (different vendor) and one was dinged down to the paint as well. Mods suck right about now...

Hey Johnny just to let you know I got your email regarding the paypal invoice. Also I had a question. It is evident that many of the H-fit intake owners have had the same problem regarding the intake cracking at the throttle body. If your product is consistently having the same problem then doesn't that mean there is either a design flaw or lack of product quality? And in either of those cases would I be wrong to assume any reputable company would replace their mistake free of change and not at the consumers? ohh and btw Ill send you the money via paypal as soon as I get it. thanks.

Thank you all for your comments and posts.

We welcome the feedback, both positive and negative.

As always, we at H-Fit take pride in our customer service and quality products and we sincerely apologize about the issues people were having with our e-mail.

We wanted to reply to some of the posts

VinnieMac - We thank you for your support of H-fit products, we appreciate your business. We know the history of your intake and being that it is only a little over the warranty period we have decided that it was proper to replace your intake chamber. We have sent out your replacement intake and you should be receiving it shortly. Please let us know if you have any questions when it arrives. We would like to have your cracked intake shipped back to us so we can perform a full failure analysis on the unit. Thank you for your patience.

Pumkin - Please check your PM, we have sent you RMA instructions. We look forward to hearing back from you.

08_Nick_Fit - We are confused by your post. Are you still waiting for an invoice or are you waiting to pay the invoice? We have already notified you that we have sent you the paypal invoice for your chamber replacement on August 17th. I have personally confirmed that it was sent through paypal so it was not affected by the problems we were seeing with our H-FIT email accounts. It is still pending a response or payment from you.

Please let us know if you cannot find the paypal invoice / money request and we can send you another one.

We look forward to hearing back from you too. Please PM us who was the original purchaser of your H-Fit intake you bought, as we'd like to see its history.

As for your question about the cracking on the SSI, we have only seen about 10% of the SSI units exhibiting cracking of the chamber. We have had all of these intakes returned to us for failure analysis and we found 3 basic failure modes that were pretty much evenly distributed.

We found that.

1. 1/3 of the returns were due to an inconsistent wall thickness in the noted area that was cracking. We have replaced these intakes free of charge regardless if they have exceeded the warranty period.

2. The second 1/3 of the units that were cracked was due to an improper type of paint used when the customer decided to paint the SSI chamber. We found that the paint actually attacked about 1/4 the thickness of the chamber leading to the cracking. These units were also exhibiting cracks in multiple locations. We have been evaluating these on a case by case basis and have been charging a nominal fee for the chamber replacement.

If one must paint their SSI Chamber, Please use the correct type of paint for plastics. We recommend Tamiya Model paints for Polystyrene as they are designed to bond and are compatible with the SSI chamber materials.

3. The last 1/3 of the units that we found exhibited cracking in several locations and it was obvious on these units that they were either installed incorrectly or subject to abuse, as there was substantial visible damage to the intake chamber.
These units were not covered under the warranty and we were completely justified in not replacing this type of failed chamber at all, but, we have also been offering these customers the chamber replacement option at a nominal fee because we wanted to take care of our customers.

Based on the information we found during our analyses of the failed intakes that were returned, we have determined that it was not proper nor would it make sense to replace all these failures at no charge.

H-FIT has assumed the responsibility and costs involved for the replacement of chambers that have failed due to a defect in Quality of materials and workmanship as stated in our warranty.

We have even gone the extra mile to offer a replacement chamber at nominal charge for intakes that were damaged by the user and not covered under warranty. This was to look out for our customers so they could be back and running even if the damage was their own fault.

As for your Specific intake, we had made a special concession for you.
Being that you are not the original owner of the unit, we have no idea how the SSI chamber was treated prior to your acquisition of the unit. Also, the unit has exceeded the 1 year warranty period, but H-FIT has still decided to offer you the same nominal fee replacement that we have been giving to those who actually purchased the intake from us.

We believe that we have gone above and beyond what a normal vendor would do in your case.

We do strongly stand by the performance and quality of our product.

That's why we provide our 1 year warranty period to the original purchaser.
We perform extensive testing on our products prior to product release as well as after product release. For our SSI alone, we drove over 12000 street miles and 500 track miles for performance and durability testing prior to the official release of the unit.

Please email us at our temporary e-mail weloveourfit@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments.

We love to get feedback from you.

Thank you all for your patience as we fix our web hosting and email!

The truth is: metal is much better than plastic! Even kool looking plastic as in other $$ (pricey) intakes. You will have to pay them again as I did. Intake works well BUT if you want you may go to a store such as Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes etc and buy some glue such as the so called liquid nail or some other home repair tubed stuff. Then if you decide to do this, put it all around the place and let it dry: after you take the intake off that is.
Replace with the OEM while working on your SSI. IF you put it back on make sure that you either move the battery well out of the way (pretty much impossible); or take it out. But first find your code to your radio. If you take the battery out then after reconnecting the battery let the engine idle at least 5min.
Guess what? If you do the above then I have saved you over $70.00!
BTW the above are JUST suggestions. I am not a mechanic other that the shade tree variety.
I really miss working on cars but with the new ones with all of the electronics well... I guess I am showing my age... lol

Be careful out there! Maybe it is better to completely take the battery off and not try to squeeze the intake between the loose battery and engine intake.
Anyone interested in a SSI intake including the repaired one PM me. I also have the new brace which is much better.
