AT rough running/stalling in "R"

who else has had this issue??

1) Start the vehicle up in the mornings.

2) Warm it up for about 30-45 seconds

3) Put the car in "R" and teh RPM drops from 1300 to 500. Car feels like it's about to stall. Check engine light is NOT on. According to my scan tool, the "Calculated Engine Load" is 87.7%!!
- Torque converter????

Has anyone else had this issue?

I've had my car drop in rpm and actually stall/die when put into Reverse before. It was due to a vacuum leak from the intake manifold, the hose was cracked from the inside out, so it didn't look like it was leaking until I took it off and checked. Might not be the problem you're having, but every time my car starts stalling/dying when at idle or changing gears, I've found it to always be due to a vacuum leak at 2-3 different possible inlets.

Still haven't found the cause. I did notice that it happens more when the weather is colder.

Ive had that problem too. Engine running rough and wanted to die at idle. I had a manual trans. My father in law also had this problem with a Chrysler and nothing found at dealer. Did you just get gas? My FIL just got gas and next morning it kept stalling and he was leaving in a few days to get back to his home in Georgia. Its the nitrogen in the gas covering the spark so you get a miss with stalling. It just annoying and should go away after engine warms up.

I would change your trans fluid, but don't think thats the cause.
