I guess there's not a lot of reputable shops from where you live. Well! i don't know what else to tell you.

Yes, I agree. Todays film material has to be worked just right, but it's remarkable what they can do with the material in the right hands. It does take time and practice... two things the pros have lots of. I leave it to the pros, especially with the compound window curves on many of todays cars.

I'm planning to have my Fit tinted after it arrives. Thanks to the original poster for showing what SS looks like tinted.

any suggestions on what an acceptable price would be on a tint job? Dealer quoted 'about $250' but i would love to know what others paid.

That's odd, according to http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/TX/ the legal limit is 25 percent.

As a sign and decal manufacturer I have done some tints and security film work for friends and it isn't all that difficult. The main problem people have is not using a proper solution for application and/or using cheap film. The cheap stuff does the falling off, massive bubble thing after being in the sun for awhile. Spend the money on the product and you should be happy with the results. None of this is to say that tinting is perfectly easy either but with care and patience it can be done.
