My $60 price quote came from AAA. But yeah, I'm way over 30 and have an excellent driving record.

Anyone on here between 20-24 that gets their own insurance? I'm still not having the easiest time.

38yrs old, Married, live in Akron/Canton Ohio, no tickets, State Farm $345.00 for 6 months = $57.50 per month. I have crazy coverage too not this state minimum crap. The Fit is a little more than my last car. I was driving a SUV that I was paying $328.00 every 6mos. Small vehicles don't hold up as well in a crash vs larger vehicles. I was pretty amazed that the difference was only $17! Says a lot for the Fit since I haven't seen any crash test ratings yet.

I live in NJ (we have the highest car insurance in the country!!), and I pay 623 for 6 months (I picked the ultra plan with Geico, otherwise, it would have been 550). I just turned 25, so my insurance did drop.

Beforehand, I was paying almost 2200 a year on a 2001 Grand Am GT with a middle package.

My wife and I (both in our mid 20s) are paying $165 a month to Amica right now for a '79 Volvo (basic) and an '02 Forester (comprehensive). To drop the Volvo and add the Fit with comprehensive (had to pretend it was a Civic), it adds $213 for the next 7 months, so an extra $30 a month over what we were paying. They said this didn't include discounts for safety and security features, so that'll knock it down a bit.

22yr old with non fault accident, 2 speeding tickets one maybe two of them are gone

I will be paying 115 a month for both my cars. my fit, full coverage and my RX-7 full coverage value set at 10k with all the mods and what not.

of course that quote is considering i am getting home owners insurance through my company also.

my parents have been with the same rep for 10 yrs and i started driving with the same rep so i dunno if he's cutting me a deal.

It is a good idea to shop around because you can see how the cost varies. My insurance did not go as high as I thought it would. The agent told me it was because of the safety features.

Why everybody talks about 6 months and not 1 year ?
Is the insurance period in US is 6 months ?

It's yearly, but you can break up your payments into monthly or semi-annually.

I'm 29, no accidents or tickets, discount for college degree, total was:

$250 for 6 months.

What insurance companies are you guys using? All these people have said how much they are paying, but few have mentioned their company.

what's funny: the people paying the higher rate right now will get no refund for getting raped for those first 12 months.

insurance companies are the worst thieves of them all. I have absolutely no sympathy for them.
