GREAT DEAL on Wheels - Opinion?

I ran into this -- what seems to be -- a good deal on some wheels, and need opinions. Opinions on looks/style are welcomed... but I really need opinions on quality and on value as it relates to brand and what I would pay for them.

The wheels:

Rota Style 5 - Hyper Silver
16x7 (4x100/e35/67.1)

$225.00 (all 4 wheels - brand new, in original packaging... never been used)

They originally sold for around $499.00 before tax and shipping. That $225.00 price is for wheels, shipping, everything.

Would they work on my GE without problems or some type of add-ons to make them work? I'm not exactly the wheel/tire expert some of you tuner types are... that's why I'm asking.

Not real sure how they'd look on the Fit, but I do like them. They aren't extremely light... but they are lighter than stocks.

They're probably not the style most at this forum seem to want, and that's ok. I've never been one to get something simply because everyone else gets it anyway. Still, I don't want my BSP GE8 to suck in the "style" department either.

Like I said, mainly need input on the wheels themselves... as far as quality, and the price I can grab them for.

Thanks for the help!

BTW, I know, some of you hate Rota wheels with a passion... what can I say?

I'd say that's a STEAL.

The problems that I can see are that the offset is 35 whereas most people around here are running offset of 45 without problems. Some will say to "man up" and just roll your fenders, etc. Others do not want that and so they stick with 45mm offset or higher. That choice is really up to you.

I love Rotas...I have had 4 sets, and not one single problem, ever.

Yeah, I knew the wheels were a good deal, just not sure about looks and overall value. When something seem to be too good to be true, sometimes it really is!

As far as how they'll look, I guess I could Photoshop the wheels onto a BSP GE to actually see, then no more guessing. Finding the time to do that in order to make it look real is another issue altogether.

About the offset. Guess I'm getting a little confused about offset as it relates to "+ and -" offset. If you don't mind, what does the "e" in the "e35" mean? I'm assuming the e35 is referring to offset, correct? I also assumed a 35 offset to be better than an offset the opposite direction... but I guess I have that backwards. Hmm, I need to learn a little more about offset it would seem.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Well that offset is +35mm but closer to +45mm would be more ideal in order to avoid issues--but like I said, some have fit larger wheels with minimal effort.

I personally am going to find a +45 wheel just so I won't have any issues.

Although the price is definately a steal, I honestly dont like them that much. But that is a very very good price, if you like them then hell go for it. Even if you get bored after a couple of months you could probably resell them for more than what you will pay for them.

If you were to get those, also look at picking up hubcentric rings 67.1/56.1. Most likely you would need to get camber bolts for the front as these wheels have 18mm less offset, so even running the stock 185/55 tires you are looking at 3/4" more of the wheel sticking out. Well with stock sizing you can probably get away with it, but if you increase the tire width say to a 205/50, well now you juat added another 20mm, 10mm each way, inside you will be without issue as you moved away 18mm, but now on the outside you would be 28mm (a bit more than 1") sticking out the sides. For sure it would rub if you lowered the car some if you drove it like you stole it from time to time.

Not sure what your overall intentions will be with the car, granted the Fit is not a sports car in any fashion, but it is a competent handler and so far to me it seems to like being pushed some and I can not wait to get it out on a circuit. Won't be setting any time attack records with it, but it will still be fun. If you are into just the show and/or VIP scene, then the dumped super flush look is probably what you want. I don't get any warm fuzzies for that scene. hahaha

good advice on the hubcentric rings

I kinda like those wheels. I would recommend looking all over the picture and wheel sections. Look for wheels around mid 30's offset and make sure you like the look and note any fitment issues. I have 43 offset and it is fine even being lowered
