34 first tank. 33 (much more aggressive driving) 2nd tank.

BTW i'm at 900 miles. The engine seems WAY faster, and i don't think it's just cuz i'm a better driver now.

35 on the first tank (with dealer fill so who knows how much was in the tank), 37 on the second. Looks to be about the same on the third - I'll know soon.

I don't understand how the MT is able to get better mileage than the AT, especially when you're cruising at a higher RPM....but in anycase, I'm glad to hear it. By the way, does the high RPM bother you guys when cruising on highways/freeways?

I'm forever reaching down to shift into sixth gear.

The day they come in, I'll be there to buy the first!

Hear that, Christina Ra?

You obviously haven't driven a manual Fit at highway speeds much!

4900 rpm @ 80 mph is ridiculous. Plenty of room and use for a much taller overdrive sixth gear.

The rpm really doesn't bother me at all. as I stated on another post the guys I carpool with were very surprised at how quiet and smooth the motor is at 3500 rpm.

Seems you haven't either, unless your Base Fit is different than mine. 80 MPH = 3900 RPM in my base Fit.

First fillup.... combination of country and mountain driving... some city. 34mpg

Maybe it wasn't topped off by the dealer when I got the car... we'll see what the next few tankfuls are.
