My 2K8 Fit is hesitating at higher rpms

Hello, I've been scrolling through this site and forum for a while, or as you call it lurking. So i've got a problem and I've tried the "search" button but can't seem to find any information resolving this issue i'm having with my car.

It's a 2k8 Manual Tranny Fit, i've got 38K miles on it. It's been sitting in my parking lot for 6 months only randomly starting it and taking it on short trips around the block, shopping, etc. But mainly it's been sitting for 6 months. The entire time i've had it i've never experienced this problem prior, or with my other 3 hondas i've owned.

When i'm on the highway the car is hesitating at higher rpms... it'll kind of hiccup and/or slow down for a second and then resume it's search that redline we so love. I tried a fuel system cleaner and it seemed to help a bit but with the new tank of gas it went right back to the hesitation. Prior to this it was doing it mainly thru 4th and 5th gears...now it seems to hesitate even in lower gears.

I'm guessing it's the fuel filter...so my million dollar question is: Has anyone tried to replace the fuel filter on a Honda Fit?? I know you have to dis-assemble the gas tank, as i've read from your other forums, but has anyone acutally done this to fix this problem? Thank you.

So after researching on your search button again, with "Fuel filter" I came across a thread "constant speed 'stutter'" and after page 5 or 6 I guess KoolKevin said it's the Coil Pack. Apparently, I don't need to take apart the entire gas tank after all!

you should try replacing your spark plugs first.
