And a safer vehicle is the one that can avoid an accident.

The 2007 Yaris is actually "safer" than the Honda Fit. The body structure of that car is newer and is designed in a similar fashion to Honda's ACE technology. The Honda Fit body structure predates ACE, and therefore isn't up to today's standard.
Let's hold off this discussion until the Yaris gets a rating. The body structure may be newer, but the ACE construction of Honda is by no means an 'outdated' design. But I have gone against my own suggestion.

I would like to see the safety of the standard and the fully airbag equipped Yaris. Can anyone verify that the Yaris doesn't come standard with or have the option of side curtain airbags in the back? (Maybe because it is only a two door?)

This makes me very happy! My insurance company is getting a call very soon, now that the front and side impact test results are out. I hope this lowers my premium.

These tests are done with seatbelts on, so regardless of the rating, isnt your dog still screwed?
