First Road Trip in the 2008 Fit Sport!

I must say I am in love with this car. Just did a 180 mile round trip in, this heat, blasting the AC with a passenger in the first 90 miles on 89 octane. 39.8 mpg on the scangauge! Still have more than a half a tank!

Really looking forward to putting in the K N filter hope I can get above 40!

Don't take the scangauge MPG reading as gospel. It's a calculation. Use your odometer reading and the gallons you put in the tank and do the math; that will be your most accurate MPG value.

You are right I got better than 39.8.

Heck I traveled about 240 miles on a half of tank.

Just filled up today

244 miles 5.8 gallons -- 42.06 mpg! wow.

This was about 80 percent highway, but not too shabby at all. Just put in the KN filter too!

It is the auto with sport mode and paddle shifters. Which I Never use sport mode, is this better for gas? Scangauge was not being nice in sportmode, so I went back to auto.

Sports mod gets worst MPG. It makes the tranny shift at higher rpm points. I to never use the sport mode. Hmm great mpg i have a 08 AT as well. But i am geting about 36.0mpg right now thought i was doing good

Sounds like your Fit did a great job. I love to take it for trips - just to get to drive it for longer periods of time! LOL!

I used to only get 36mpg out of my 1.8l toyota.

I just did another trip but I won't be getting the same results. I had my wife and dog with a fully loaded car blasting a/c, but I will still hit 200 miles on the half gallon.

Oh ya I only use 89 and 93 octane.
