Hey guys,

How do you guys break in your new fit?
I am getting my 10' fit on the weekend
any advice?
Thanks!

Just follow the owner's manual... it's pretty simple.

For the first 600 miles, take it easy. That's it.

It used to be that you had to change the oil and a few other things at about 600-1000 miles, but the oil doesn't need to be changed until the "Maintenance Minder" gets to about 15% or so (a wrench will light up and something in the mid-display should show up (A or B and/or a number from 1 to 5).

For myself, it looks more and more like I'll have to change my oil at about 5000-6000 miles. Some have gone past 10k mile for their first oil change.

This is what it actually says in the book.

Break-in Period
Help assure your vehicle's future
reliability and performance by paying
extra attention to how you drive
during the first 600 miles (1,000 km).
During this period:
● Avoid full-throttle starts and rapid
acceleration.
● Avoid hard braking for the first 200
miles (300 km).
● Do not change the oil until the
scheduled maintenance time.
You should also follow these
recommendations with an
overhauled or exchanged engine, or
when the brakes are replaced.

Just change up the engine speed and don't get stuck at, say, 3000 RPM for a long time.
