Air hardly blowing on recirculate

Yesterday my wife was driving my gd. She tends to not slow down for bumps and went too fast over one I heard a pop noise and now my ac is hardly blowing when on recirculate. It seems to be working fine on outside air but even on the highest 4 if I put my hand over the vent I can barely feel any air at all. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I pretty much always use recirculate so I'm really bummed about this.

Wow 60 views and no one has any ideas. I think I'll be making a service visit.

I have noticed that when my A/C blower is on the highest setting it is difficult to move the lever from closed to open and rather than force it I lower the fan speed before I move it from closed to open.... When I once moved it while the fan was on the 4 setting I ignored the resistance and the pressure slammed it into the opposite position making a loud pop like sound.

The popping sounds was probably the cable breaking loose from the flapper. There are three cables in the air control system - one for the recirulate flap, one for the air direction, and one for hot/cold. All the cables and flaps are easily accessible by dropping the glove compartment door. Check the procedure for replacing the cabin air filter, it tells you how to drop the glove box. Emply the glove box first otherwise you'll just spill all the contents all over the passenger side floor.

That is very likely what happened.... It happened on a van I had just purchased when a kid threw a plastic candy wrapper on the front floor.

I flipped my glove box down to replace the cabin filter last night (easiest piece of maint ever; 5 minutes, no tools, no experience. Local Honda wants $111 for doing this?!!! Filter retails for $20 )

In any case, the intake for interior air is on top of the blower behind the glove box. It's very protected. There is a flapper valve that moves 90 degrees. One way it's open to the interior, and closed to the outside. The other way it's closed to the interior (except for a little pressure relief inner flapper) and open to the outside.

There is a flat piece of insulation adhered to the back of the glove box (looks like a disposable diaper. If you've never changed one I'm sure you've worn one). This may have come off and is blocking the intake. Otherwise I don't know what the problem could be. It looked pretty bullet proof.

Sorry, no pics.

edit to add this is on an '09.
