So many intake choices

What is the best intake for the Fit? Spoon, Tanabe, HKS... the list goes on. I want to get an intake, but I don't know what to choose for better hp and gas mileage.

if you go with a reputable company they will all be about the same, pick the sticker you like better lol. now with e-bay specials its about a 60% chance you will get something thats worth a damn. it really comes down to how much cash you have. I would save for an (insert brand here) rather than buy something cheap from ebay (esp. when its a new car)

I think the differences of output and efficiency for each intake is sooooo minimal that you wouldn't notice at all. The most important part of the intake, however, is the filter. The better the filter, the better performance from your car. My only recommendation is picking up an intake with a "CARB" sticker and a filter that breathes very well (K&N, for starters).

I want one that isnt to loud. I have heared lots of intakes that drone on the freeway and are annoying as hell. I dont mind hearing it on accel I heared the stock one on the test drive and was surprised how loud it was (not too loud just louder than you expect from a stock econo car).

be advised the FUJITA Cold Air Intake does not fit correctly in an automatic transmission Fit.

Oh boy, the 'my CAI is better than your CAI' thread!

I put a $60 no name brand CAI on my Tiburon, and added a K&N filter, for a total of less than $100, and had many people on the Tiburon forums thinking their AEM or other name brand CAI was somehow far superior.

Guys, I'll put it simply, like I've done before.

A cold air intake is simply:

A pipe

with a filter on the end.

That's it. The differences between different brands will be so miniscule, it's probably not even worth investigating.

If you want one that LOOKS good, get a nice expensive name brand unit. If you just want a little better performance, get the least expensive one.

HOWEVER... make sure you have a good filter on it. This is critical! Some CAIs come with really crappy filters.
