Those numbers are units sold. I'd be curious to know how many people are waiting for their Fits to arrive.

From the link above isn't it something how poorly the Accord Hybrid US sales are doing?

If they are not wanting to go over that # they will either start to slow orders or they will forget it and just keep bringing them over.

OTOH Toyota traditionally sells a lot more than Honda, despite public perception of them being close to equal. Old style Corolla vs redesigned Civic - 41k to 29k. Camry vs Accord 43k vs 37k

Adding the 3,792 Fits sold in April to the 5,248 in May gives a whopping 9,040 total for the first 42 days of sales (starting 4/20)-- pretty good intro of a new vehicle I'd say. I guess the fact that I 've only seen 2 on the road so far is because 9,040 out of many tens of millions of total vehicles isn't a whole lot, but at this sales rate they'll be ubiquitous soon (if Honda will build to keep up with demand).

Side note: I sold the '91 Miata (CA license JAG LITE) for $2,500 to my neighbor, but since I pre-ordered my FTS FINE plates, I can't pick them up until the title comes through (2 to 3 more weeks) even though the personalized plates are sitting at my local DMV office-- bummer.

They would be selling more if there was less or no waiting. Not everyone is as patient as we are!

If I remember correctly, the yaris price is for the car itself - not even a radio. They make up for it by charging for all the extra which may be standard in other cars.

Uh, no.

More advertising isn't going to sell more cars that aren't available. It's frustrating that Honda is not making more Fit's. I see two to three Yaris on the road each day, but rarely ever see any Fit's, and the local dealer has a lot fiull of Civics, Accords, Pilots, CRV's, Odysseys and Elements, but no Fit's.

It's discouraging enough to make me consider buying something else rather than pay a premium due to supply/demand for a car that doesn't deserve a premium.

Yeah, Honda doesnt wasnt to cut into the Civic sales. Sucks for potential Fit shoppers.
