A lesson in mail insurance...

So I was in contact with astig about selling him my stock shifter, since i went with the Mugen. Following a prompt payment (he is awesome to deal with BTW, and very cool through this whole ordeal), I sent out the shifter USPS and I debated getting insurance or not. For whatever reason, I did. And boy am I glad.

Three (3) weeks go by, and tracking still hasn't delivered, saying it couldn't be located (WHAT? I've never even heard of this!). I get worried and ask if astig wants to pursue the insurance, or if I should. It makes more sense for me to, so I refund his money and fill out a insurance clam forms online and send a price in for a new OEM shifter. At this point I'm thinking it will be months if I hear anything, if at all.

Today I open the mail and find a check from the USPS treasurer for the cost of the OEM shifter, AND the cost of the original shipping. Well done USPS. Well done.

Lesson: ALWAYS get shipping insurance!

I was in a motorcycle forum and a fella from Thailand (or somewhere in the Far East) was looking to buy a specific used part as he couldn't afford to buy it new. I told him that I had one laying around and the he could have it for free and all he would have to pay is for S&H. I went to the post office to mail it and decided to pay it forward and opted to pay for the shipping as well.

A lot of good that did me! The only thing I got in return was an email berating me because the item took too long to get there! LOL....not even a thank you!
