Why does it look like it's in pieces?

 

mine is 09188 nj on 5/29 off lot

 

18358; picking it up today; SSM MT base model; 8 weeks exactly!!

 

What do these numbers mean exactly? i know what the entire vin means and that these numbers represent when they rolled off the production line. but what is the sequence?

like are you all sure its the last 5 numbers? i read somewhere its the last 4. ok if its the last 5 what does 09188 represent? month day and car number? i need to know this because i need all the help i can get with this car. and i cant find any thing on line to tell me how or when this car was made.

i think my car was made on a monday the first day they made them for the US market

 

The last 5 numbers are your production number. In other words, your Fit was the 9,188th one manufactured for the US. A number of 00001 would be the first one produced. It doesn't say much for the day that it was built, just where in line it was put together. It helps if there's a recall, they can say, 'The first 10,000 US Fits need so and so fixed, so we are recalling them.' So then you would know that that recall would apply to you. I hope that clears it up.

 

yeah it does, guess its not really that new, but it is part of the first batch.
