very dumb cnet review of fit

Look at the video review. so dumb. he criticzes the paddles, cuz u wouldn't be able to find them when making huge turns!
Anyway in general, i only check peer reviews (even for regular tech stuff). they're more reliable than cnet's scores. Sometimes Cnet is WAY off too. even if they got good critics, their score system is flawed cuz sometimes it's an absolute score, and other times its a relative score (relative to price range, type of product, etc)

Their staff reviews of everything are usually bad
Their review of the Fit was by someone who doesn't appreciate small cars at all. It's from the point of view of someone who drives the lastest techno-ride-gotta-have-all-the-gadgets thing on the road. I'm surprised they didn't complain about the lack of a built-in hot tub. Their user reviews, on the other hand, are usually very frank and on-the-mark.
It wasn't taht bad of a review, sure he didn't like that it didn't have those few options, but then again if it did it would have cost us more, and that's not what honda wanted since they are trying to bringus alot of car ofr not that much, which they have.
And besides who cares what cnet says, we should only car about C&D reviews anyways, lol.

Yeah, um, Cnet? A web/technology site reviewing cars? About as relavent as C&D reviewing a new laptop.
I never look at Cnet/Zdnet reviews... they're usually picky about things that don't matter to the real audience, and miss things that we'd actually care about.
Oh well! Thanks for the link

I use cnet religiously when I need solid reviews on phones, tv's, surround sound, pda's. They have a good team of individuals that really know their stuff, but I would ultimately trust them with electronics over cars. I didn't even know they reviewed cars until I found this review a few weeks ago.
It would be good to know if any of our members can relate to issues they pointed out about paddle shifters, but it would be out of curiosity since I'm getting the manual in about 2wks.

Actually, I thought the review was pretty good. He praises the thoughtful little touches that Honda built into the Fit, and he seemed enthusiastic about the versatility of the Magic Seats. Of course, most people who are on CNet *are* concerned about technological knick knacks, so of course he will mention the missing "technology". A pretty fair video review. I can't figure out the "6.1" rating, though. Usually, if a products gets a number that low on CNet, it makes me feel like it has a lot of shortcomings.
Eh, anyway, pretty much all reviews done by auto-based companies heap tons of praise on the Fit.

I agree about Paddle shifters. They are for people who don't know how to use and shift an Manual Transmission (MT). The Manual Transmission (MT) is the way to go in a 1.5 liter peanut sized engine, not a "paddle shifter" (Automatic).

edit: ferarri's and BMWs also have shifters that follow the wheel. is the CNET guy suggesting they should fix their "mistake" as well?

about CNET scores, not only do they underscore things but sometimes overscore things. osme roducts get high scores, but the peer reviews are very low. note that i'm referring to even the tech stuff not just cars.
