Fits are Rare!

Several months ago when I was researching the Fit, my local Honda dealer in Spring, TX had about 15 new Fits on the lot. Today, there's none!!! They have three overprices used Fits...

New, Used, Certified Honda Fit at Honda of Spring Serving Houston, TX

All priced at almost $17K! I got an excellent deal on mine, a 2007 MT 25k on the odometer at only $11K, plus it's one-of-a-kind with heated leather seats!

Local dealer here in San Antonio has the following:

-2009 Honda Fit Sport
-5-speed manual
-20,131 miles

Going for: $18.581

I paid less than that for my 2011 Honda Fit Sport Automatic
and that was everything included... taxes, etc, etc.

At that price, if they had any new Fits on the lot the
dealer would be stuck with this.

My dealer never has used ones for sale. They now have one new Fit AT Sport on the lot--last month there were 6 or 7. Either price has gone up or this is a Navi unit. They are asking $20,150.

As gas prices go up so does the cost of fuel efficent cars. Besides fits are hot!

the dealer i work at said that the fit is one of the few cars that has gone up in value.

There are likely 2 main factors driving up the prices of used Fits. Gas prices are high, and Honda, like most other manufacturers, is experiencing supply problems due to the earthquake in Japan. (The Fit is one of the few Honda's sold in the U.S. that's still produced in Japan). Even domestic production is below normal because of supply issues.
