Should I buy it???

My friend can get me a Taffeta White Fit Sport Auto for $17,500 out the door. What do you guys think? The price is good considering demand but I kinda want to get him down to $17,000. Let me know what you guys think.

If that includes dest. charge, tax, lic, doc fees, etc., then $17,500 is good. You're basically paying MSRP if the tax in your area is +/-7%.

People are standing in line for the car -- there are lots of sad stories on the Forum about the wait. If you love it, then MSRP is a good deal. I never paid retail for a car before in my life, but I pat myself on the back every day for grabbing a Fit when I could!

Same experience and advice as FondaFit. I did have 3 (actually 4 before all was completed) options but I don't think price was going to be discounted on any of them- higher was certainly possible.

Thank your friend too

Get it while it's HOT !

If that price is everything but the insurance, I say grab it. When I order mine in 2 wks, I will have to wait 6-8 wks. If you like it , grab it !!

Have to agree. I just talked to 2 dealers. One said none till fall and the other said ~3 months. Go for it!

Sorry to hear. Like the saying goes. Snooze and you lose. The wait is still worth it.

In a way I am glad it sold so that I can save more for a down. Plus I just had to put $1500 into my current car for some new suspension and tires.

At the dealership in my area they had a black sport 5AT that sat on the lot for 3 or 4 weeks. They now have a lunar mist metallic base 5AT, and it's been there for over a week, so it's not like people are lining up for it, at least not here.

Was that including all the taxes, fees, and destination charge?

I was just quoting what the sales girl told me. Reguardless, It's a FIT, 3days or 3 months any wait longer than 5 mins to sign the papers will feel line an eternity anyway! P.S. 8 wks is 2 mos

I'm 55 years old and use to work for Chrysler. I raced for the factory in the late 60's and thru the 70's and ran Direct Connection(Chryslers' performance group) for the Northeast Division.
The dealers are told to tell you of the "shortage" in order to create a buying frenzy and jack the prices up. Have some patience and wait, or shop for other dealers...trust me, the Fits been around for a long time in other countries. It's only "new and exciting" here...don't be fooled.
