what is the best drivetrain for daily and occasional track use? mpg? handling?
is it: Front drive/Rear drive/ AWD?
the car will not be use for drifting and will not see snow?

i dont think there's too many RWD cars out there that was designed for mpg as their selling point these days so you can scratch mpg off for RWD and AWD unless they are hybrids.
as far as driving dynamics RWD will beat FWD any day.
but for handling some FWD light cars can handle better than RWD with a regular joe driving it. especially going down hill on a mountain side i think a Fit with minor mods (tires, LSD) will beat most sports cars out there with a regular joe driver behind the wheel.
for you i think RWD will work if your priority is not high for mpg.

Every drive train is going to have its limits and its potential. Its hard to judge a car by simple just a drive train. For example, I can buy a honda civic hatchback and put in a gsr motor with some general upgrades and be hitting 13's all day and its a pretty legit dd. If anything, i'd say if u like doing anything that involves going up hill and attacking corners at high speed, rwd and awd is ur best bet. hahaha.
As posted already, each drivetrain will have its compromise somewhere else. It'll boil down to your use, driving habits and your personal priorities...
Having driven all at some point or another, here's my take:
DD = FWD, + on mpg, practicality
Track = RWD, AWD (my opinion)
all around = AWD, + on handling, traction, safety, all-weather.

because of mpg, practicality.
