Just got my 2011 Fit...couple questions

Hey all. So I just got my new 2011 Fit base model last night. Love it so far...especially after going from my sluggish, gas-guzzling 2004 Tiburon. Couple of issues though...

1) What can I do as far as armrest options? I hate not having an armrest, but didn't wanna spend the extra money for the Sport model. I found this, but I'm not sure if it'd work on my base model.

2) Does anyone have any good recommendations for aftermarket speakers? The 160 watt stereo is probably enough for me, but I wanna install some nicer speakers. Any recommendations?

Thanks for any help.

not sure about #1 as mine came with an armrest, but for #2 PolkAudio dB series is good stuff. and inexpensive too. get the components for sure.

Thanks kenchan and Goobers.

kenchan, are you running those speakers with the stock stereo? If so, does it have enough power? I'd like to go with a component set but I don't know where I'd put the tweeters.

I'm curious about this as well. I'd love to leave the stereo stock but throw some components in the fronts just for the extra volume.

same here....I've been using them for 3 years and 68k miles on my 09 and think its time to start looking into replacements (the stock ones are kinda buzzy sometimes).

also what polk audio db's are some of you running? does installation require using a dremel to cut the housing off the original? In this regard I miss the honda's of old where installing parts wasnt so much of a pain in the ass...

i went the opposite way. i upgraded the headunit but not the speakers. they're loud enough for me and sound quality definitely got better with just the headunit. i did add a cheap, low-powered 10" sub as well.

That raises another question...how is one supposed to go about upgrading the head unit? The stock head unit is very specific/molded for that dash. Does an aftermarket head unit look decent in the Fit?

go to the second gen ICE section. you'll see aftermarket setups there.
