Question Is center armrest a easy DIY?

Is installing the center armrest easy. AT the dealership the cost
for the part and installation is $427. I can get the armrest online for
$175 but I want a decent installation.

Assuming you've used a drill before, yeah the install is really easy. Have you looked at the install instructions online?

had no issues at all installing the OEM one myself and feels very sturdy. One of my favorite add ons so far.

I have never modified a car before, and I was able to install the OEM armrest easily. I am really glad I bought it online and installed it.

Has anyone tried to install it in a manual fit? I would love the armrest, but I have the base 2011 manual, and the Honda website states it can't be installed on that model.

Hopefully, they are wrong!

this helped me. and yes, it works on a 5sp. mine went in fine. doesn't get in the way or anything. the only isuse i had was the bolts holding the ebrake cables....they are a bitch. they go in at a bit of an angle....they gave me a ton of trouble. spent most of my time trying to stretch the cables back to get just one bolt in. its all i could get in....anyways. the DIY helped. best of luck

I installed the center arm rest in my MT 5spd. No issues. I installed quick shifter at same time since everything was apart. Like it much better than stock arm rest.

why $427??? a Dealer by me in Miami said $47 to install... and they sell it for $241. So i might buy it online for $170-$180 and pay them to install...

check different places for install if you dont want to use the drill yourself... or ask a buddy who knows what they are doing...

Dealer installed mine after I ran into issue with the parking brake bolts...make sure you get them lined up and not at angle so they don't cross thread.....if that happens that is bad news.....not sure if dealer cross threaded bottom one, guess will find out if I remove it

I'll be in the minority here and say not all that thrilled with it.....for one in my Fit it does not line up dead center between the 2 seats...it is a bit closer to the passenger seat so it seems I have to lean a bit more to get to it...points more the right as well.......also right after install it seems that when my seat comfort issues started to happen...maybe from the angle I am now leaning at? Who knows...just seems funny that once installed happened...whamo...seat comfort issues

ymmv may vary as many many here love it.......mine seems to have become a bit looser after a few months use as well,,,probably time to get a new center console (about 50 bucks) and get the oem flip armrest back on seat

Watch the video. Go slow. Have the proper tools. Go slow. On the plus side if you do screw it up you will still be able to drive it.
