Agreed, the Fit is pretty darn good value all around. my 08 honda fit 5spd averaged around 32mpg driven hard. If i took it easy and kept it at the speed limit i could get 39mpg on road trips.
I now drive a prius v and people on priuschat complain about anything under 45mpg. its all relative

Considering hondas mpg rating is 8-9 below what I get even when driving like i stole it, there should not be any sort of mpg whining lol

I also modified my intake for a bit more noise so I can actually hear when she is complaining and when she wants to really move. Helps for mpg because I can get an even better idea of exactly what gear and speed I need to be in for best efficiency

For those of you who drive hard, dont be surprised to learn that can help in city driving. I hit 2nd around 5-10mph then run it up to the speedlimit in town and then shift into 4th or 5th, whichever is best considering speed limits vary from 25-45mph intown on different parts.

on interstate from offramps I ride 3rd up to 55 then shift into 4th and hit 5th at 75mph

If I do only interstate driving I tend to average around 35-37. awesome considering cruise control usually has me averaging 32mpg or so

sorry to bump an old thread but i just wanted to add that i think hondas are like scotch, they get better with age. I used to have a '98 civic hx and at 180,000 miles i was getting 750+ miles to a tank (11gal). around 100k miles i was getting close to 600 miles per tank. I bet some of the OG fits in here are getting atleast 40mpg.
