A few nights ago, I was at the beach lounging in refresh mode wanting to read through the FIT's manual or flip through magazines, but there was very little light around and using the dome light wouldn't be very effective for long term-use. I went to walmart and found a cool light that uses four AA batteries. I popped in some NIMH Rechargable batteries (1800 mAH each) to test how long it would last before dying out.. I clocked it at 2.5 hours! That's plenty of time for normal use and considering that most Rechargables are rated at at least 2300 mAH each, it'll last much longer than 2.5 hours. Otherwise, bring an extra set.

I wish I had bought this one instead since it is much nicer in design. But the one I have is self balancing so it won't roll over.. (couldnt find it online to show here). I paid $5.00 for mine.

I have always been skeptical of the usability of these lanterns, but after testing it, it exceeded my expectations.
