Rear Diffuser

I've been looking off and on for the last year or so and will I guess have to make my own diffuser since I can't seem to locate one.

Unless that is, a fellow Fit Freaker has...

I'm fairly sure that's not what he meant....Nor will that do anything at all, in any way, shape or form.

I'd assume he means something like this:

Neither of which will do much unless you do something to make the bottom of the car smoother...IE:

As an experiment I drove home from my folks place in Ny, about 700 mile trek, with the rear bumper off and got better mileage. I was averaging about 38 mpg going out and was getting just about 41 comming back. That's without really changing my driving style at all. I got a ticket to prove that too! :-/

It's just that there are those spaces behind the rear bumper that I think hold just enough air flow to make a slight difference. I'm shopping around right now for a mig welder to do it myself and do it right. Who knows maybe I'll make a kit and sell it on here! :-D

Cut speed holes in rear bumper!

Are you doing this for better MPG or handling?

Cut holes!?!?! No way!

No this is just for a little added fuel economy.

Scala you want to unload that bumper? :-)

So many facepalms had.

1) The JDM bumper won't help you at all, and even if you got one good luck getting a Noblesse diffuser.

2) A big diffuser like what I posted won't help either.

3) Wanderer. is the only one who knows what he's talking about. Google "Golden Eagle" Diffusers.

lol I was just joking. But seriously if it's for fuel economy removing part of the bumper would be best. Adding a diffuser is not going to help your mpgs. Nor will a spoiler. The added drag will hurt it if anything.

You could make a full underplate like Mike posted. The idea is to get rid of the drag from the rear bumper.

Okay my plan is to cut and attach to the inner lip of the rear bumper a thin sheet of aluminum (or thick) that would fill the area of rear of the car. It would not extend past the bumper or be visable from the rear of the car. Unless of course your laying on the ground looking up. It's just to fill the space behind the bumper.

Cutting ghetto fabulous holes in my car is not an option!

What muffler? I've got a side-exit exhaust.

Not until he posts the pics. Really just slow down a mph or two for the same savings. That panel ain't going to do shit other than add weight.

I think this will "realistically" give a slight increase in MPG as this will reduce drag.
...i'm interested....
