In order of most interested in:
Low mileage 2009-2011 E90 6MT (either 328 or 335)
F30 6MT (again, either 328 or 335)
2009-2012 Acura TSX 6MT sedan or 5AT wagon
2011+ Golf TDI 6MT
2012+ Fit

 

Having no car payment and low gas bills is extremely nice, so I plan to keep my Fit for a long time. But in 4 years, the last kid will begin driving. If I can successfully teach him to shift (the previous kids had no interest in learning how to drive a stick), I'll be really tempted to hand down the Fit and buy a new toy. Right now, my short list is really short - FR-S or BRZ. But if Honda does produce a crossover Fit, all bets are off. ;-)

Old thread but a car that I would consider in a 6 speed manual Skyactiv diesel.

 

i think for me (to replace the 09 GE) is the new accord sedan maybe next year.

my wife would be the primary driver, but will get a AT V6 one with all the bells and whistles so that i can drive it on the weekends too to take the wife out on a date. i wont be selling my '12 GE any time soon though. thing is a keeper.

 

I kinda have my (wifey's) eyes on a used '09-'11 Mini Clubman S... Just looking around right now...

Hyundai Elantra, Ford Focus/Fiesta

 

Usually the cars I like end up not coming to the USA kind a high performance wagon like the Focus ST Wagon, a wagon like the Mazda6 in Diesel and 6 speed manual. Something about modified wagons carry loads and have the looks.



In other words I foresee keeping my Fit for a long time.

 

I'd also look at a 2014 mazda 3 hatchback manual or diest manual.
Also an Acura ILX but not decided on the drive train.
I'd look at a 2014 Yaris RS Sport Manual.

But my fit is less than a year old and not even 10K miles yet. No real need to think about changing it. Plus it's paid for.

 

I just caught a glimpse of the 2014 VW Corrado reminds me of my CRX... Cant wait to check it out.

Did you test drive the Mazda3? One Mazda I would of consider one of been the 1st generation Mazda5 if it had the Skyactiv engine.

 

Not Honda. I think they have lost their way. Example cheapening the Civic, which backfired. We have a 2012 Fit and a 2012 CRV. The Fit is nice to drive but has an ancient engine with no power and the CRV is positively numb to drive.
Mazda or even a Prius 4.

 

You're definitely a wagon guy cj... Used to have a '70s Corolla wagon back in the days as a DD... Maybe you should go local like a Nomad, a Woody or even a Magnum SRT.

Yeah I like them too but not too excited about the maintenance... A Fit with the Mini's peppy engine would do it.

 

It is a Honda. lol Do you think people buy Hondas because they are fast? You want to drive fast buy an SI like we did. It sounds to me you chose your cars without thinking what you want/need.

Yeah was not always just seems that later in life you end up hauling larger items that a sedan with with fold down rear seats will not accommodate and most hatches with the seats up do have the cargo room. I will not go SUV or CUV. Almost brought the Mazda6 wagon with MT when they were available. Also if Ford actually offer the Focus ST wagon (one world except the USA) in 2012 I would of consider driving one of those.

 

I jumped ship and got myself a Toyota/Yamaha 1.8L car...

 

Lotus was great when they went with a Toyota sourced engine car looks great. I myself will keep my Fit nothing in the market that is really exciting for me. The Mazda3 with the 2.5l (184 hp SkyActiv) and when the MT is available maybe something to look at. But depends if it ends up being built in Japan versus Mexico and if they continue with their deep discounts like with the previous generation.
