what car are you considering next?
Morning.
So I'm sure a few of you with high mileage fits consider replacing your fit either sooner or later (after you've driven it till the wheels fall off)
What cars are you considering?
I've seen many comment on the FR-S/ BRZ
here are mine:
GTI (still debating how reliable they are)
Veloster Turbo
Focus ST (just read a first drive on edmunds )
Fit (if they decide to redesign though this wont be until after they've shifted production to NA)
Mini Countryman (cuz I'm a big boy and need the room)
I love my honda's but am worried about the lack of gusto they are showing.....Ford and Hyundai are doing a great job of charging in and retaking market share....(I think just about every 2012 Ford on the road is a looker!)

First three were on my list when I brought my Fit actually was placing a preorder on the ST prior to the Fit. But had too many questions and reliablity is a big factor since I put around 20k a year on a car. Had my Fit 10 days and have put over 1500 miles on it and still have not taken a trip.
Unless someone comes out with something that has roughly the same amount of cargo room, costs about the same, and has some sort of quality that lends itself to the driving experience, the Fit still has no peers.
That said, anything else I'd get would not be like the Fit, since it does what it does best, and unfortunately (or fortunately) options on car size and price are severely limited. Paying for the garage that has the car in it takes precedence.
If I didn't need the cargo space, I'd opt for an FR-S, Abarth or Dart in the new car market, and a Boxster, 330i ZHP, 350Z, s2k, or C5 vette if used.
Had a 2.0T in the past, and while smooth, reliability was questionable, and the maintenance was expensive. I got tired of worrying about breaking things, so I switched back over to the normally aspirated little econoboxes and only miss power occasionally.

Maybe a Fit Shuttle if they bring it to the USA 2012 Honda Fit Shuttle - YouTube

Was considering trading for a VW Golf TDI or a GTI a couple of years back but I'm not kine on the rear leg/cargo room in the 3 and 5 hatch models. Now, I'm just keeping the GD and may pick up a Yamaha FZ8 or...
1998 or 2001 Acura Integra Type R (I know of 2 that are for sale right now)
Hyundai Genesis 2.0T Track
BMW 128I Coupe (Prefer a M Sport 118 or 120tii 3 door hatch model but they're not sold state side)
Dodge Challenger non-SRT w/ 5.7 "Hemi", 6 spd M/T w/ "Track Pack"
Dodge Ram "Express" w/ 5.7 "Hemi"
2012 Subaru Impreaza WRX Sedan
1998-2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 or Chevy Camaro SS
1983-1988 Mitsubishi Starion or Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth Conquest
1988-1991 Mazda RX-7
... pretty much something "streetable" but "performance oriented".

I do not see me getting rid of the Fit any time soon. I would really like to pick up a EF for another project/daily car. I have also toyed with the idea of getting a CR-Z for a daily and get rid of my Jimmy.
2010+ Porsche Turbo in ~2-3 years. A lot can change however in that time....something new/better comes out, I get married, etc. :P
I plan to keep the Fit for a LONG time, as it will be my daily driver/side car. Right now I ride the motorcycle to/from work 100 miles a day so the Fit is safe in the garage racking up only ~10-20 miles a week.
