I've never seen this question asked

......and nor is it in the manual.

I'm on vacation for the next 11 days and my family and I are loading up the Fit to go to Cape Cod for a week, so I decided to give her a good cleaning and while I've noticed it before, it never prompted me to ask, but what purpose does the "sticker" of little raised dots on the windshield (area of the rear-view mirror) serve?

Not losing sleep over this but am curious.....

it's for shade. some cars have side pull-out shade in the visors but some cars just have the dots.

have a safe trip!

Haha guess you need drugs then because it's true. Doesn't work too well, but it's better than nothing.

It's not TOTAL shade, just cuts down on the sun light shining in the car when it's somewhere above you. But at the same time, still allowing you to see out in that direction as necessary.

Have you seen those huge advertisements on the buses that cover windows. It's all dots on the window to make the image for you to see, without preventing the passengers from seeing out.

I wish the fit had the pull outs on the visors like my Jimmy has. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, the sun always finds a way to be right in that spot where the shade does not block and blinds the hell out of me. Drives me nuts

Yes the dots provide shade. They work with the sun shades.

If you pull down both sun visors it makes a continuous 3-4 inch wide band of sunshade at the top of the windshield. No need to put a strip of tint at the top of my windshield.

If you notice, the width of the sunshades in the down position are the same as the dots.
