Trailer Hitch & HKS Exhaust Work Together?
Trailer Hitch & HKS Exhaust Work Together?
I'm planning on getting a trailer hitch for my 2012 Fit Sport A/T and also would like to eventually get an axle back exhaust (probably the HKS Hi-Power). Does anyone have this combination or something similar? Looking at the pictures on etrailer.com it's hard to tell if the hitch would prevent installation of an axle back like the HKS. Thanks in advance for any responses!

Anyone?
To be a little more specific I've been looking at the 3 hitches on the etrailer.com site:
Trailer Hitch for 2012 Honda Fit | etrailer.com
The Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch ones look like they wrap around the stock exhaust, so I'm not sure that they would work. The Curt Hitch looks like it slips under the stock exhaust from the inside, so it looks to me like that one would have a better chance not interfering with an axle back exhaust like the HKS. Any thoughts?

Dustin, Did you ever get this resolved? I was looking at the same thing last night and couldn't tell if the bar would clear. I have the Tanabe Touring Medallion muffler. Alhtough the Tanabe's muffler is smaller than stock, the problem is that the Tanabe muffler sits in the spot where the smaller diameter stock pipe would sit.

Curt Hitch should easily clear the exhaust pipe on the custom exhaust

Typical Hidden Hitch/ Draw-Tite may interfere with custom exhaust
I'm late to the party here, but I think you're right about it working fine. I still have the stock exhaust, but I did install the Curt hitch a couple of weeks ago. If you install it yourself make sure you have a carbide cutting bit for your rotary(dremel) tool like they mention in the instructions. The hole you have to drill and enlarge is in the frame rail of the Fit and they're not kidding when they say it's made of high tensile steel! I WORKED to get the hole drilled and then ovaled out to insert the rectangular shaped washer that has to go inside the frame rail. The other hidden hitch style ones that wrap around the muffler would be much less trouble to install just because of this, but it would be iffy if they would work with the HKS. Good luck!
