Just bought a 2007 fit....great car....cd player works fine, EXCEPT it buzzes (electical "burst") in a very rhythmic manner.... approx. at 2 seconds, then 10 seconds, then 2 seconds, then 10 and so on. I have cleaned the laser. Can't be a ground problem because of the regularity of the burst pattern. NEVER in my lifetime have I seen (heard?) this....any geniuses out there?????

Actually, it could be a ground problem or a shielding problem. It's a question of the source. Is the interference coming from inside or outside the player. An internal problem would indicate a change in some internal component (capacitor?) and require a technical repair or replacement of the unit. An external source would most likely come in on the power line caused by the power line coming too close to the source of the interference or a change in some component such that it is putting out a larger interference signal than normal. So, you could try to connect the player to an external power source with the car turned off to see if you still get the buzz. Otherwise, you could put on a power line filter and see if that corrects the problem.

Just off the top of my head based on my general knowledge of electronics.

I tried to do what you suggested, and post a WTB for a used CD player for my 2007 fit....it says I'm not allowed to. Or, am I doing something wrong? Suggestions anyone?
