another hit & run casualty

last week i was at work (i DJ at a club) and someone backed into my car, i didn't discover it until around 3am when the parking lot was nearly empty and my car was all alone with no evidence to who could have done it. They had to have been in a lifted truck because i'm in Oklahoma and well, that's all these hicks out here drive. They did a good number on my bumper, rubbed off some paint and left rubber from their tire...

i popped the bumper back in, thankfully there wasn't a crack or a crease, just some road rash. I cleaned it up quite a bit, only minimal paint damage...

Today i took some white Plastidip to see if i can blend it in to the missing spots...can't even tell there was any damage unless you're looking at the bumper from a foot away...

I just hope the plastidip holds up through the winter, i don't wanna have to attempt to spray it while it's cold out.

Nice DIY repair job, it looks good!

You are lucky your headlight lens was spared w/ no cracks.

when i first saw it my first thought "oh no, please not the headlight". After inspecting it i was relieved to find out there wasn't a single scratch on it.

I don't know how i got so lucky, I'm glad it wasn't a quarter panel or something metal that couldn't be popped out. Even if i had to replace the bumper it would have been the cheapest thing besides the front fender to replace...but it would have give me an excuse to get an aftermarket bumper (but the Mugen would have been my entire insurance money, lol)

What sucks is that it took me years to convince the wife to let me get a Fit and she finally let me get one, 6 months later it gets hit and i thought it would cost me a lot to get it fixed...thank you Plasti Dip! lol.

Why is it so important the headlight was unscathed? Are they super expensive to replace?

indeed.
Plasti Dip ~10-15 dollars

One Headlight
~140 online or ~220 directly from Honda (for that genuine stufffff).
Not sure if this is 100% accurate but either way it's a lot better for everyone if the headlight isn't damaged

It's much more of a burden. Despite how bad the bumper looked, the OP was able to get it back to 95%, which is pretty good. Had the headlight been damaged, it's unlikely for it to have been fixed without getting replacement parts, since you can't just glue the pieces back together. Additionally, if it were raining or snowing, then you'd have moisture inside the now exposed headlight housing.
