Replacement tires for Fit Base 15"
Ok folks. I just replaced the standard Dunlops on my 2012 Fit base with 195/60R15 Goodyear Triple Treads. Goodyear says this tire does not fit the 2012 Fit base. HOWEVER, They show it will go on a 5.5"-7" 15" rim. The Fit base 2012 has 5.5"X15" rims. The diameter of the tire is only .2" larger. I checked my speedometer with my GPS and it is still dead on.
The reason I chose this tire is that my last set lasted 90,000 miles on my 1996 Ford Taurus! You will need to rotate these every 10,000 miles to prevent un-even wear. They will tend to "sing" a bit on grooved pavement. But the best part is that you will have some of the BEST traction on water, snow & ice that you have ever experienced!

I also have 195/60-15's. There is a huge selection in that size. Went with the Yokohama Envigor. Note that most performance tires have directional tread. This helps evacuate water to prevent hydroplaning. Straight ribs are better for quiet.

Yes
Yes these are directional and have a huge water channels. I went to these Goodyears mainly because my last set went 90,000 miles and I know how well they perform in the rain, snow & ICE!. Last winter was mild here in Ohio I have a bad feeling we will pay for that this year! I drive 30,000 mi a year and had I stayed with the Dunlops I would be buying a set of tires every year.. Not good!
