break question

ok i just got my 2008 fit sport 2 weeks ago..with 72k miles on it..drives really good smooth shift only thing i noticed is when the car was parked for like 30mns. to 1 hr. and when i start to drive is again around 5 to 10mph i hear some snap or clunk when i first apply the break...but it will go away after a while like when i started drivin it...sound is coming more on rotors i guess...i can even feel it on my break pedal too...any idea?...

Does this happen every time regardless of weather? Secondly, do you hear the clunk when applying the brake to shift into D (assuming you have AT) or after you're already moving?

it happens the first week i got the fit and i guess the previous owner stop using the car for awhile coz its mileage stay as is when he was selling it...sorry i did not include but its a manual transmission...it only happens in low speeds like drivin out of garage less than 5mph i guess...then i press the break then i heard the snap or clunk not sure...you can hear it too when i reverse then press the break as i say it only happens first second break then it goes away, i think you are right it has something to do with the weather coz now i barely her it...the sound is more likely coming from pads or rotors?..like it snaps in after i press the pedal...

Did you ever find out what the problem was? My Honda Jazz has the same exact problem...

Pads sticking to the rotor from moisture in the air condensing out because of the warmer rotors. Then the clunk is the calipers starting to move then running out of free space and stopping against the caliper bracket. Normal operation.
