Honda Fit / Focus ST

My wife is due for a new car and we decided to check out Ford Escape. The salesman saw me drive in and noticed how I was instantly attracted to the Focus ST (sweet ass car!) so he asked if I was looking to trade in my Fit to which I replied, "Are you crazy? I would never get rid of my Fit!"

He said that he understood my feelings as he and his wife both drive Fits and love them.

But that 252HP, 6 speed MT with Recaro seats sure was bad!

Buddy of mine owns a Focus ST. they are fast (low 14s) , but too much technology crap inside. I dont need brake or clutch assist dammit!

I like the simplicity of the Fit, and when Hondata releases their tunign solution, LOTS more Fits are about to be VERY quick. Especially since we are a lot lighter, and not to mention cheaper to maintain

I love the new focus, but it is a ford. I guess it depends on how long you are planning to keep it but in my experience, in terms of long term reliability, there is Honda and Toyota....and then the rest.

I looked at the Ford Focus ST before buying my Fit. It was not out yet so it was to be a pre-order. The items that made me not get it; was it was a new model, I drive around 25 to 30k a year so not sure what the repairs would be, summer tires (standard) does not cut it here and did not want to have to replace them and premium fuel. In addition my wife felt too many traffic tickets would run up the insurance which she pays.

Still like the car but I am kind I got my Fit.

its a cool car, i really like it. that said, you can almost get two base fits for the price of a fully loaded Focus ST and that is ultimately why i passed. i am also concerned about its performance in the hot, as turbocharged cars tend to suffer.
