I drive in flat areas. I've reset it and drove it 280 miles to San Antonio. Had to stop at 227 for gas! So that's actually been done. Yeah they're giving me a hard time alright. Was in shop 4th time now! Same bs. Can't reproduce problem. I'm just gonna hire an Atty and I'll update when its all over. I'm in hondas showroom right now.

Good luck man!! Im sure some would say $$ on atty can be used on getting another FIT. But it sounds like your fed up to where you wanna stick it to these guys and ultimately get to the bottom of this car vs forgetting about it. I honestly hate dealerships and the games they play to where Im on the fence whenever buying a new car. Hoping on favorable news from you on next update.

Thanks. Lol. The Atty actually costs me nothing. They take the case. If they win Honda pays em for me cause they go after that too! If they lose I owe nothing. Idk yet if im taking that route. I have a appointment Monday morn with the general manager and the owner of the dealership. They wanna chat. We shall see what they say. Yes I'm a star wars nerd! Haha

I've done that! I do have a case Num. They said work with the dealer first and if after all avenues have been taken then call them and reference the case Num and they'll take over from there. I'll see what these guys say here in a few hrs. I'll update soon!

Sucks to hear that about your car, it does seem something is wrong with it. Its going to be hard to convince the dealer to do anything. I remember a little while back Hyundai was caught overestimating the mpg on their cars or something like that and they had a program where they would reimburse owners with a debit card or something like that to cover the difference in mpg. If they're not willing to replace the car, maybe you can suggest to your attorney they can try that. I'm not even sure that will work, but just a suggestion since at this point with the dealer and Honda you're working uphill.

They haven't tried swapping the PCM?

Something just doesn't seem right here. They should be able to diagnose where that extra fuel is going fairly easily. It's either going to leak onto the ground or come out of the tailpipe both of which they could measure. If the motor is bad, they should be able to tell. They say the PCM "checks out" but what are they actually checking on it? Are they believing the data the PCM is giving them arbitrarily?

"I don't know" is a garbage answer, especially with the time you've given them to figure it out. They seem helpful, but I think they don't want to take the time to figure out a possibly complex issue for warranty work they're not getting paid for. Bottom line.

This is a huge trend i've been seeing lately, especially at dealerships, and it really pisses me off. "Customer service" lol

Yeah I agree. .....UPDATE: SO I finally seen the manager of the dealership, however it was not the gm nor the owner. Supposedly they were in meetings. I said the reason they asked me to be here at 9am was because those guys were in meetings in the afternoons always! So anyways I explain my situation to the guy, AGAIN, and throughout it I mention several times I don't really wanna go through the the lawyer route and all that mess, to which anytime I mentioned anything legal he would just reply ..." Well it would be a pain for honda as a manufacturer but not us!" Or he'd say ..." Yeah again Honda would be who u dealt with, not us!" ...as if he was reluctant to admit the dealership having any part in this....not professional in my opinion! So anyway he says what do u want? I say look to avoid this nightmare for both sides, trade me in on a new one, give me a more than average trade in, give me a more than average discount, refund my extended warranties, and that should clear any upside down issues on the car, and keep my interest and payments the same and we can all smile and move on. I told em u guys don't make much on fits anyways cause there's not much mark up to begin with, I said and maybe y'all will lose on this deal too a little, but what? Maybe 5-1000 loss. That's worth a happy customer who will buy another Honda most likely in the next 5yrs and its worth the references I'll send em and the good praise they'd receive as well in my opinion. So he said OK, let me talk to the big chiefs when they get out of these "meetings" and I'll call u with the best we can do by 3pm today. Said he can't make any of those authorizations that he'd have to talk to the big dogs. So we will see. I wasn't fond of his unawareness of the sit after I've personally explained it twice to this guy before, and I wasn't impressed with his steady rebuttals, but at the same time I remained calm, didn't get mad, and thanked him and said I await our call and left. I kind of understand his position. The big bosses made him handle they're dirty work knowing he had no power to fix things and put him in a bad position. But its all good, I'll wait and see what and if they offer anything and if its not to par, I'll simply wash my hands of them, and call the Atty I have lined up a say proceed and step back and watch. Sad , this is what consumers have to deal with when a product goes south, and they shouldn't have to. I remain optimistic, yet I already know in my heart where this is headed. Geared up and ready!!!!!!

I feel like making a big sign with a lemon drawing on it that says this dealer sold me a lemon and don't care!!! and parking in front of they're dealership during the rush hour traffics! Maybe go buy a bag of lemons and spread em across they're front lawn. Maybe walk thru they're dealership to every customer in negotiations and say watch out, they'll sell u a lemon here! Yeah, those things cross the mind, however I wanna be as civil as possible and give the benefit of the doubt and reserve those actions for the worst case scenario!

I think your handeling quite nicely. Totally understand the wanting to mess with them but personally i would never go the vindictive route. Keep it in proper channels with the atty like your already doing. Everytime i read an update i want to go about the horror story ive dealt with nissan. They litterlly fucked with me and made my car worse when i hit problems aith the car 1 week after buying. But it gets me so irate i try not to think about it. I hope they humble themselves and trade the car in. Good luck.

They arnt doing jack. I know the workings of dealerships. Its so shady I refused to be a part of it 4 years ago. Im an honest tech and honestly HATE service advisors. Granted not every single one is bad, but theres enough to make me never want to deal with any when it comes to problems. Only time id recommend someone is when they need a the dealer scan tool to access body control ecus because im a cheapo and wont spend the thousands for scan tool programming. Im quite sure after jango spends hours describing whats wrong, all techh sees is "customer states car not showing accurate mpg" then "bring back, same problem"

^Yes I suppose I am giving them way too much credit to actually attempt to troubleshoot and diagnose an issue.

I went through the trouble to get automotive certs myself and then decided the money wasn't worth the work and hit to my personal ethics. Now I just use the knowledge and experience to DIY stuff on my own cars, so I guess it wasn't a complete waste of time

Service advisors = salesmen. I say it all the time on here but I just want more people to realize this, maybe someone from the corner of the internet will read it and take something away from it one day. They are not technicians and most know very little about cars besides what their computer tells them.

WWYFFMD? I'll just say you are handling it much better than I would you are doing the right thing and I commend your patience.

I agree. And yeah I'd not go vindictive on them. Lol I love Honda regardless of this. I'll always own one most likely.I understand dealers are kinda put in this position by manufacturers. Its a domino effect. Sad but true. I'm just hoping the mess gets resolved timely and effectively. Man I miss my crx sooooo bad right now. That booger was a 91 hf and it had a d16a6 bottom with a d16z6 sohc VTEC head with the original hf 5spd trans and a exedy clutch and flywheel with headers intake and exhaust, and was a peppy torquey Lil single cam and still gave me 35-40mpg. Lol when it was a stock HF with the d15 it grabbed upwards of 50mpg on long highway rides. That car made me fall for hondas lmao. A car that old and customized in a way Honda never intended and it beat out the efficiency of cars 22yrs newer! Wtf?

I give you credit most people would want their money and buy something else swearing off buying any Honda product in the future. You would think they would also deal with you and get the okay from Honda figuring if you go the lemon route they would rack up legal fees (the manufacturer) as well the possibility taking back the vehicle that is classified as a lemon.
