The teaser site is up for the new Fit on the Japanese site:

It reads "Let's amaze the world with this car. New generation Fit, September debut. Amazingly low fuel consumption. Higher quality, more advanced interior. Cargo area that overturns the common sense of compact cars."

To give you a sense of the new Fit's fuel effieciency rating it is the highest for a non-plug-in.

36.4 km/L New Fit (Hybrid)
35.4 Aqua (Prius C)
32.6 Prius
30.0 Accord Hybrid
27.2 Insight
26.4 current Fit (Hybrid)

Unless I am missing something this is like 85mpg! That seems unrealistically high. The prius c is only rated at 53mpg city and this calculates to 83mpg after the conversion.

Japan uses different testing cycles so the rating does not convert to US, but it does offer some idea compared to other vehicles. In other words, since the new Fit hybrid was rated slightly higher than the Prius C it would likely be rated the same here, maybe 55 mpg city. Not that Honda will release it here anyway. It is just another indication of how Honda's new hybrid technology is looking to rival Toyota's which is essential for the Fit to break the dominance of Prius and Aqua at home.
