Custom Order 2013 Fit Sport with Navigation and Manual Transmission?

Has anyone been able to do so through Honda dealer? I checked the website and the customization site won't allow you to do so, but I was wondering if there's another way.

These cars are made in Japan, right? So if I want to order one from scratch, shouldn't I be able to order one with stick shift + navi?

By the way, anyone seen the next design change on the fit yet?

First time on the forum, ntmu all!

Theo

I believe the 2013 is made in Mexico not Japan. Also there are several posts about the new 2014 Fit. In my opinion it's ugly and I prefer my GD3 over it.

^^^The 2013's for the US are still from Japan, and probably the 2014's too. The next gen Fit will be the first Mexico produced Fit to the US.

I don't think it's possible.
They stopped offering the Navi trim w/ MT I believe 2010 or 2011. When I bought my 09 Navi w/MT I had to put a deposit down & wait 4+ months, and that's when they offered it.

Are you serious? I was always under the assumption they were made in Mexico. Would there be a difference between Canada and the US?

The Mexico plant isn't even up yet. Aren't the 2012+ Canadian Fits from China? I think you might be confusing the 2 countries.

Yes the 2012+ Canadian Fits are built in China.

IIRC M/T Sports with Nav were a rarity in general even when they were offered. It was hard enough to find a Sport in M/T to begin with during the tsunami phase of the Fit's production run.

just get the MT and install your own nav later. if you use the oem bezel and trim, your car will look factory finish.

I much rather get everything oem. Factory navi has the wheel mounted audio/ phone/ and navigation controls. After market navi won't have those. You gotta navigate through the onscreen icons which are hard to do when you're driving. I've tried both using a bmw's factory navi/ phone system compared with the aftermarket pioneer navi/ phone system. Conclusion: Factory system allows for a quicker and more accurate execution of controls. Which leads to safer driving. IMHO.

Btw, is the center armrest a good option to have? Anyone ordered their Fit with it?

Yes, the OEM center console is very nice, well made, and sturdy. I ordered mine from College Hills Honda and installed it myself in about 2 hours. It comes with a cover plate that covers the hole on the side of the driver's seat when you remove the driver's side armrest.

yah? hummm.... i dont have this problem with my pioneer, but i use a nuvi for nav as i dont like the voice muting and interrupting my music during my drive.

i suppose if you're willing to pay extra and deal with the hassle, it might be worth it to you. for me, my '12 and how i set it up is perfect!!

I did the same thing and still think this is a winning combination. Yours and ours were probably built the same day in Japan—over the 2009 US Thanksgiving weekend.

As I recall we learned that the entire batch of MTs with Navi were built together on the line and shipped to the US. We got ours in mid-January.

They are no longer available, according to my dealer (who looked at me strangely because he says no one bought them). I have never seen another one "in the wild." It is a great combination, particularly since it was the only way to get VSA in an MT.

Cheers.

Thumbs up

^^^Yup, exactly!

Put the deposit down end of Aug 08, didn't get the car till the end of Jan 09.... I went crazy waiting, but when I got my baby with 3 miles on the odo, MT w/OEM nav, in the main color I wanted, it was all worth it.

I wonder how many of us 09 MT's w/Navi were on that original production & how many are still around... has to be a very small number.

I've never seen one in the wild either.
I actually wanted the VSA & steering wheel controls mainly, the nav was kind of a bonus to me, which I'll probably be swapping out in the coming years.

Funny, but I felt the same about the navi. I haven't updated the map DVD but won't ever swap it for a different unit unless it fails. VSA is a big help out here. Happy to see it is standard equipment now.

Cheers

It was standard in 2011 or 2012+ models

I recommend AVOIDING oem honda nav. It sucks for the money. My JVC unit (which is now $532 at sonicelectronix when I checked in June) has better maps, better stereo POWER, better stereo CONTROL, and I updated it in about 2 minutes.

Pretty much any brand name NAV deck with a price tag of $400+ will WAY overshadow any OEM NAV unit from any car that was offered new under $30k
