If the other driver is at fault, he has to fix your car. Even if he doesn't have insurance, you can sue him, get a judgement, and take money out of his paycheck. I imagine that's why he was asking about fault. I'm really sorry about the car, and hope no one was hurt.

 

Naw, sorry if anyone misunderstood. I originally wanted opinions on what I should do as it pertained to the car itself. I'm less concerned about insurance and more concerned about my car. I'm the kind of person that keeps things forever. I don't give a F about resale value, etc. I want MY CAR, the way it was just a few days ago. The exact car. Asking too much? idk. Whatever it takes....

 

People are trying to help and give you pertinent information that just might help you. Your replies to some of our members in this thread are rough, in my opinion. Did you start this thread to be rude or to seek help? I get you're pissed over your predicament, but your raw emotions in this thread are misguided.

Sell the car for salvage take the money put it down on another Fit.

 

There is something strange going on with this thread. We try to help him and he responds negatively. If I hadn't seen the pictures (assuming they are really his) I would think maybe he is just trolling.

If this posting is really true, I feel bad for him and wanted to help him reduce his loss as much as possible. Anyway I'm staying out of it going forward. I gave him a few ideas that he can choose to try or ignore.

Regardless of whether or not the other guy had a license or not doesn't really matter when you run into him by the looks of it.

 

The other thing that seems funky is he said he bought the car 2 weeks ago, stated that he was going to get full coverage asap and still hadn't. If i had scraped every penny together i would have had full coverage before i took the car home.

 

I don't have pics of my car a 2008 sport when it was in an accident but I would say I had about 1/3 the damage and it was $4K to fix w/$500 deductible. Sorry. I am not an insurance adjuster, these are my thoughts - totaled.

Having watched close to 20 thousand dollars vanish in a split second can have its effect on a person.

Anyway, yes, this is real and those are indeed my photos. Thanks again for people that did give me some advice. I really did take it and research my options based on the advice I have gotten here, so thanks for that.

I'll post here again after everything is said and done, and hope to be back posting in these forums when I'm behind the wheel of another Fit, which should be within a week.
