Screwed

Kept having the TPM light come on. Finally went to Discount Tire for 3rd time in 3 weeks. The tech says way too little air in right rear. Found a screw in the tire. Musta been a slow leak. They fixed it for free (we are regular customers there). Was thinking for awhile that there was a problem with one of the sensors. Nope, just got screwed. Yeah, I know, bad pun.....

It was the TPM light. I really thought there was a malfunction in one of the sensors. The screw could have been in there for some time and caused slow leak. Anyhoo, glad it got fixed. arghhhh

haha. yah, i had a similar situation a few months ago where i too thought my tpms was giving me an error. i checked psi and sure enough my passenger side rear's air was low, and had a metal bracket stuck in the tread.

for me, i fixed it myself in my garage. took me longer to melt the snow off the threads to find the damn puncture than plugging it.

What did you use to fix it?

i used a plug like this one. been using these for a while with great success.

some novice will try to tell you they are unsafe. no truth to that at all if you follow the instructions.
if the puncture is less than 1/4" give it a try. my local buddies even auto-x'ed with them in their tires, no issue.

I've used them on my scooter as a temporary repair without problems but when I worked at GoodYear tire shop, we had to use the plugs that are mounted from the inside in order to offer warranty.
Good luck though and I command you for your courage and ingenuity.
