Missing "skid" panel beneath engine compartment

I got my very first oil change at 7000km, half a year after buying a brand new Fit. The guys and Pennzoil asked where the "skid" bottom panel of the engine compartment was.

Is it normal for 2013 Fits in Canada to be missing this plate? Why would a brand new Fit be missing this?

both of my cars have lost theirs, it often rips off when travelling through snow (especially in reverse)

Would it rip off without you knowing it? Sounds like it's not a metallic plate.

Yeah the splash shield comes off (rips off) fairly easily. You might have not even noticed it just disappear.

OK, sounds normal then. Also, responses at Missing "skid" panel beneath engine compartment - Honda-Tech indicate that my generation of Fit does not have a skid plate. Either way, missing a skid plate sounds normal. Thanks!
