Brake pad drag redution clips on a GD

Has anyone tried these out for fuel mileage on the fit or found any that do fit.

Found some that fit a 1998 civic and looking at pics the calipers look similar in size to ours. Might go to the wreckers and see if I can find anything that would work.

Napa makes this part as well. Part #84230 fits the Civic 02-11, but doesn't specific the SI model, and RSX 02-06. So i would try this since the Fit uses the same rotor as the civic SI and RSX pads. At least it's worth a shot.

This product would be useless for me since I'm going for the complete opposite. In race applications you want to create the friction to heat the pad up allowing a better bite. This is proven to have the vehicle produce faster times in AutoX. I fit to witness my last race as the Winmax developer was tester temps on their car and making adjustments to develop more heat. Crazy.

I work on a lot of cars that have these factory, and everytime I do their brakes, these clips tend to get broken or lost.

I can say I have never noticed a difference, nor have we ever had a customer come back and say something felt different.

Im thinking its just a marketing gimmick, much like putting a magnet on your fuel line.

Now, aftermarket big brake systems, that have VERY beefy clips on them, those are effective. But not these cheap tiny as clips that bend when you look at them too hard.

In my opinion, Id skip these. They look so thin that you could bend them trying to push them into cake frosting lol. Not exactly something that will resist the firmness of pad/caliper position.
Keep in mind, when you do brakes and have to push the piston back into the caliper, it takes quite the effort. Not something a tiny clip could ever do.

Yeah I didn't think these would offer much a difference but works in theory. A thicker clip would work as mentioned i'd imagine.

I wouldnt bother. Like I was getting at before, Honda would definitely spend an extra 5-10 cents per car if these clips had an actual result.

Very true.

Besides I want the complete opposite. I'm looking for more heat to development for better bite in my brakes when racing. Psshhh MPG

Thanks you guy for the info. 13fit, I have never held a set in my hand looking at pictures online its hard to judge just how bit they are.

For the roughly $10 they are and I will be doing my breaks soon I might give them ago just so I can have the first hand knowledge that they are junk.
