Easy and inexpensive way to tie the hatch if needed

I think the Fit is really a nice and well designed car. Lot of space and lot of places to tie ropes or straps inside the car. Only thing missing, a way to keep the hatch closed when you can't close it completely...

Sure, the rear wiper could be used for this, but I would be afraid to break it!

User Codger01 (in this thread: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ear-hatch.html) suggested the Kurgo Trunk Cleat, which I think is a very good idea. Easy to install and cheap!

This part looks like this: http://www.kurgo.net/product_images/..._info_card.pdf

This part is now discontinued from Kurgo, but still available on the web. You can buy it from Cherybrook, Tirerack and some others in the USA for around 30$(USD).

But good news is, you can buy it from Canada from Princess Auto for 9,99$ (CAD)! And they ship to USA! Here are the links for anyone interested:

Black: Black Trunk Cleat | Princess Auto

Silver: Silver Trunk Cleat | Princess Auto

Chrome: Chrome Trunk Cleat | Princess Auto

I think this is the first time a part is less expensive in Canada then in USA!

Hope it can help someone!

Thanks Frenzal! Just ordered one in chrome from Princess. From time to time I have to haul trail work gear in the Fit so I think this cleat will work great.
