New Thule Racks

Note that Thule does not "recommend" a "fit" for anthing other than bikes, no recommedation for kayak attachments or even baskets.

I wonder if there are stability/liablity issues with the length of ocean kayaks due to the crossbars needing to be as close as they need to be on our small roofs? Hmm...

My kayak is 17', so now I'm wondering how stable my boat will be at speed. Would think it would be fine if the ends are tied down properly. How are you folks with big kayaks finding they ride?

Since I am still waiting for my Thule Fit Kit to come in, I've been using the little foam blocks to put my canoe on top. Don't know the length off the top of my head, but it's big and heavy. I haven't had any stability problems on local roads (<50 mph) - this is with only two straps going through the door openings

I don't know about brave - I can get similar leverage on the straps whether they connect to the Thule Canoe carrier, or through the door and around - there really isn't that much difference. The only potential issue is having the canoe move side to side, or pivot, since there aren't plastic blocks on the rack preventing it from doing so. And it hasn't moved an inch in the multiple trips I've taken.

Yes, the racks will work with the Mugen visors. I have had them both on my Fit for about seven months now and no problems at all.
