Going to the Dealer, need advise.

I thought buying a new Honda Fit would be easy, but the wife is asking to have navigation (has to have it) and she doesn't like leather. I went to the dealers but most didn't even know about navigation or just said to plug in a phone but my wife said no way is she going to be 'tethered to the car'. One of the dealers told me you can have 'true Honda Navi' installed for $700-800 and the next one said you would have to tear the dash apart to get it put in and cost my first born to install. Who is telling the truth?

hrm...i was always under the impression it was a factory installed option and most dealers wouldnt do it. If i was a betting man id say the second guy is closer to the truth.

Factory installed navigation is available in the Fit EXL. Look at this link.

My '08 Sport 5MT didn't even have factory navi as an option...but that didn't stop me from getting a Metra dash kit and a Pioneer AVIC-U310BT aftermarket navi/bluetooth/ipod head unit installed.

I would think the only obstacle to having the aftermarket navi installed would be the availability of the dash kit. Metra and Scosche usually have kits ready pretty quickly; I wouldn't be surprised if there are '15 dash kits out already. From there, just pick your navi unit, have it installed, and off you go - navi and no leather.

What's wrong with a $100 GPS unit that plugs into the lighter and sticks to the windshield?

Factory installed Navigation in Fit

Factory installed navigation was available in Fit Sports beginning with the 2009 model year.
