Another Baseball Incident

Well the Fit got it. The nephew has a good arm. The baseball was inside.
Been having a hassle getting it fixed. One glass place thought I was nuts wanting a Honda window, and the local Honda dealer says they don't do windows.
Are the aftermarket windows identical and good quality?

Your nephew must have a strong arm, those baseballs would normally just bounce or glance off the window, not go through it. I'm guessing your nephew isn't just 6 or 7 years old.

He's 12 and can do one-arm pushups.
Still deciding on factory glass or aftermarket.

No dealers do glass they sublet the work to a glass installer. They order the glass and have a installer put it in.

That's what the dealer said.
Our local dealers are notorious for marking parts up over list price.
Honda back glass list price is $790
Online Honda price is about $550
Aftermarket is about $235 installed, but no idea about the quality or how well it matches.

i would talk to your insurance agent for comments. that's a comprehensive coverage.

Got it fixed and insurance covered it minus my deductible.
Installer said he was glad I got the Honda glass because aftermarket fits like crap. You need to get new rubber strips and spacer pads. Technically they could be reused, but the installer said it's not worth the time to peel off the old broken glass.
