Cylinder misfire -after- coilpack replacement?

My '08 Fit Sport started shuddering over several months. Local dealer and another mechanic both looked at it and couldn't reproduce the problem (neither would drive it more than a few blocks, as I'd asked because it only happened once warm). Once it started throwing a code ("cylinder 4 misfire") I took it back to the dealer, who again couldn't reproduce the problem. Having read here and elsewhere about how common coilpack failure is with these, I had them replace the cylinder 4 coilpack. Picked the car up and it has run great since!

Within a few days however, the check engine light came back on. I had it read, "cylinder 4 misfire" again! And now it flashes when it's cold, then settles back to a steady "on." I'm terrified that I'll have to spend another significant amount (the dealer charged $270 to change the one coilpack).

I've an appointment tomorrow with a recommended local mechanic, but am curious if anyone here has thoughts on this. And unless it's something simple and cheap for which parts are already on hand, I'm due to drive it a few hundred miles the next day!

If you haven't had a valve adjustment, get that done. It's supposed to be done at or before 100,000 miles and then every 30,000 miles or so after that.

That and coilpacks are apparently the 2 most common issues with the 2007-2008 Fit. And one of them isn't technically an "issue" because it's really just regular maintenance that some people neglect.

The dealer did suggest the valve adjustment. Is that likely to cause the light flashing if it's far enough out of tolerance?

Thanks for your reply!
